Stay posted to our “Upcoming Events” page, as well as our facebook page, as we are planning on offering a number of workshops beginning in November 2011.

We will be offering an expanded version of our popular “Acupressure for Pain” workshop where we’ll discuss a little bit of Chinese medical theory and history, and teach some simple, yet effective protocols for addressing common pain and ailments. This workshop will be designed for the public and will include diagrams and suggested reading.

Also, by request, we are working on a similar workshop tailored to our colleagues working in western medical settings, and others with a background in western Anatomy & Physiology.

Other possible topics for workshops may include:

Acupressure to boost the immune system. (Great for those who’s homes are hit by flu & cold more than once per year, as well as those dealing with Chemotherapy and/radiation).

Oriental Medicine & Fertility

Herbal 1st aid kit (For the home, office, outdoors, and/or athletics)

Acupuncture & Oriental medicine for Weight Management.

Acupuncture & Oriental medicine for addictions (This topic would be universal for substances like drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and foods, as well as compulsions and addictive behaviors)

Acupuncture & Oriental medicine for Stress & Anxiety

and more…

Please contact us with additional topics that interest you for us to consider.

The Reflecting Pond & Sun Tea

Hello and Welcome!  This is my first post on my new blog, on my new website….

Hmmm, What to say???

I don’t have a clear idea for what I’d like this to be… Maybe this is a good thing and it will develop into something useful by its self  for my community, myself, and any web surfers out there in the cosmos. For sure I would like it to be a kind of reflecting pond for myself, so if you catch me answering my own question don’t be too surprised or alarmed, it’s just me skipping across the ripples of the Reflecting Pond

Have you noticed how hot it’s been lately? I’ve had to cut way back on my daytime hikes and I still feel kindof drained in the afternoons.  Hey! how about converting some this bumper crop of solar energy into some fun and refreshing SUN TEA?!!!

Since I was starting a new batch of Kombucha today (I nearly lost my Scooby this Spring but she seems to have made a strong recovery), I decided to make a batch of Puerh Sun tea too. you can use all kinds of other flavorings from the garden or pantry too.

Yes, mint and lemon juice are very tasty, but why not try things like rose buds (Mei Gui Hua) and mandarin orange peal (Chen Pi) to sooth and smooth your Liver Qi & blood, as well as break up any phlegm in your Lungs. Did I mention it regulates digestion and menses too?

One of my favorite sites for a wide variety of organic bulk ingredients and the best selection of essential oils is from my home town of Pleasant Hill, OR   http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/

Here’s a video that shows how much fun you can have making SUN TEA too!

ENJOY!

P.S. Here’s some nice reflecting pond-side music to go with your tea
